Segundo o site oficial da banda, num festival de música em Stonehenge, nos idos de 1983, Ed Wynne e seu irmão Roly Wynne, que à época faziam parte de um grupo denominado BOLSHEM PEOPLE, fizeram uma jam de improviso com o baterista Nick “Tig” van Gelder, do JAMIROQUAI, e o tecladista Joie Hinton. No decorrer das 6 horas dessa performance, decidiram que uma banda sairia dali, e Ed já a batizou em ato. No ano seguinte estavam, em um estúdio caseiro, lançando a primeira fita cassete. De lá para cá trabalharam bastante, e veio a fama de executarem shows estonteantes.
